Stage Fright. An Actor's Prayer
There are actors who are never nervous before an audition or performance. I'm not one of those.
One of the most nerve racking moments for me is the moments before I go on. Whether it's entering the audition room, performing in a scene, in a recording booth or going onstage.
When I am standing backstage, listening for my cue to enter into those bright lights, my heart is beating a mile a minute. In this moment, I take a moment to do some deep breathing. I create the mindset to do the character and the story justice, to serve the audience and my fellow actors. And I say the prayer: "Help me to let go and have fun."
Always to let go..
