Hollywood Winners Circle Review

Wendy Alane Wright created an online program to help actors navigate their careers and I wish I had it 20 years ago.

We are creative souls. We are wired differently. We feel, think and make choices from a different place inside ourselves. For some of us who operate on this level, who march to a different drumbeat, we can struggle with the more practical areas of an acting career. The business of acting. I know I did.

We all feel we have talent as actors. But what separates those who are successful and those who fall by the wayside is knowledge and information. Information I didn’t/don’t have about the acting business. Luckily, someone who I feel has this wisdom is dishing it out to us. Wendy Alane Wright knows acting. She knows actors and she knows the business of acting.

Bottom line actors: You can be the most talented actor, but unless you know where and how to take that talent and get it seen, unless you take the actions needed, your dream will remain just a dream.

In 1983, in a dark movie theater as a teen, I saw The Empire Strikes Back. It articulated with laser point focus what was drifting in my consciousness all my kid life. I wanted to be an actor. I wanted to be a part of the magic of moviemaking. From that moment on, I embarked on a crusade to sign up for every play and in every acting class in my small hometown and school offered. I made plans to graduate and move on to drama school and head to New York City. But when I got to NYC, I became lost. I had no idea what to do. I had the talent, but I did not know the first step in what to do with it. I was clueless as to the business of acting. It knocked my passion, my confidence, momentum and motivation down. I was drowning in self doubt. I lost my mojo. I went home.

Time is a precious commodity for an actor. If I had the information in this course decades ago, who knows where I’d be today? But it’s never too late. Never. Regret is a terrible thing.

It’s an online course with modules containing videos and checklists and resources. It also includes weekly zoom chats and a Facebook discussion group that is also packed with resources. And Wendy knows her stuff. She really does.

Here's some of what you'll learn in the Masterclass:

• THE VERY FIRST THING YOU NEED TO DO when you are starting your journey to become a working actor.

• THREE LEGIT CASTING SITES you can use to find auditions.

• HOW TO PROVE YOU CAN ACT to agents, managers, and casting directors.

• HOW TO PROPERLY FORMAT AN ACTING RESUME and look like a professional.

• WHAT AGENTS AND MANAGERS ARE LOOKING FOR in actors like you.

• HOW TO BE A PROFESSIONAL ON SET and act like you belong there.

If you've been unsure of where to go next in your acting career, or if you're unsure of where to start, this is the class you need to attend.

I am restarting my acting career after decades of being out of it. I am green to the business. So this works for me and where I am at right now. I feel it will definitely help me to level up. It can help to prevent me from staying in the same place they are today five, ten, fifteen years from now. Compared to other stuff out there, you are getting a lot of value and in my opinion, you are getting way more than what you paid for. Wendy is constantly in her Facebook group or in Zoom encouraging, teaching and supporting the actors. She brings in industry people with informative Q&A from actors, managers, agents, casting agents, directors, producers and coaches.

One time, it was late at night and I was on Facebook and she came into the group, saying she couldn’t sleep and asked if anyone needed support or had questions. I just love that.

She is direct but warm. Generous, funny and supportive but very honest. She won’t blow smoke up your ass. And that’s what I need. I want someone who is going to make me better, not someone telling me what I want to hear just to keep a follower or make a sale.

This review is based purely from my own experience of it, where I am at in my career and “your mileage may vary.” Something like this is an investment in myself. In my life. The amount of money I spent is equivalent to a year of Starbucks. You would spend more on a vacation, on an outfit. So you have to take a look at your priorities and what you are truly committed to.

We all have fear and self-doubt, and Wendy, God bless her, delves into that stuff too. We need to work through our fear and self-doubt to take that class, to submit that self-tape, to go to the audition. Move past what keeps you stuck and get out there and shine your light, because the world really needs it.

Full disclosure. I do receive a percentage if you sign up with my link. It’s minimal, but you support my work in the world too, and I thank you for that.
