Prove Them Wrong

Prove them wrong.

I once had a director tell me that he saw me in something else and thought that I had no talent, but that he cast me because he wanted to teach me how to be a good actress.

That same year, during a scene study class, I had a teacher in London tell the actress playing alongside me that she was the better actor and I was ruining the scene because I couldn't act. In front of the entire class.

(Quite the mind f ***, huh? Gird your loins and guard your your spirit kids, because they're out there.)

I was crushed and I had no idea how to respond to them. I was a naive 19 year old at the time.

Today it would be an entirely different response...believe me.

Always remember people with limitations will attempt to put their limitations on you.

People who operate on a positive, encouraging, inclusive level within their own life will never tell you that you are not good enough.

There are people who will tell you you're too old, you're too fat, you're not pretty enough, you're too pretty, you have no talent, you're too weird - you're too something.

Prove them wrong.
